Description
Often the three spring tabs are broken and missing from the high-speed clutch pressure plate. These spring tabs are important, as they help pull the pressure plate away from the clutch pack when the car is removed from high gear and put into neutral. This kit provides new spring tabs and necessary rivets to attach the tabs and reassemble the pressure plate assembly.
Note: I have found variations in the size of rivets used in the clutch pressure plate assembly. It seems to correlate to the pressure plate material. Early cars used a steel pressure plate and at some point, bronze was used. Both variations were used with hard steel backing plate to bear against the high-speed clutch fingers. If you order based on this difference, and the rivets are the incorrect size, I will replace them for you at no charge with the correct ones. As with the case on these early cars, I am still learning.
