The original Maxwell carburetor float was made from cork, which often is brittle, damaged and has been coated with an array of different products over time in an attempt to make it float. These new carburetor floats are machined from a modern cork replacement. A 1/16″ hole is bored through the center to pass the needle valve rod. NOTE: the needle valve will need to be unsoldered from the rod in order to disassemble the original float from the float bowl. The new float is installed, and the needle valve will need to be re-soldered.
I can provide installation services and other carburetor repairs. Contact me using the form below to discuss further.
