Often with the 2-cylinder Maxwell transmission band lining is worn to the point that there isn’t enough adjustment left to provide satisfactory band operation. I have fabricated tooling to machine new wooden band lining blocks. I can take your old bands, strip them of the worn wooden blocks, sandblast clean, and rivet new wooden blocks to them. The new wooden block lining is machined from hard maple to the original thickness required (9/32″).
Note: rivet heads are countersunk in the wood block, just as original. The photo above is an in process photo.
