


Maxwell referred to this item as the “valve motion case”. These are often found broken and repaired by a myriad of different attempts throughout the years. It is obvious that Maxwell understood the part was weak, shown by the addition of the reinforcing hump. My new camshaft housings are cast from gray iron and are designed such that I can provide any style housing to fit any 2-cylinder Maxwell: small or large diameter push rods, with hump or without hump.
I also machine internal grooves in the push rod bores and cam shaft bores to accept o-rings in an attempt to keep oil inside the engine instead of all over the chassis and ground.
