Often a considerable oil leak is found at the transmission tail shaft. The shaft is hollow, with a split at the u-joint yoke area. This high temperature silicone plug is installed after the u-joint yoke locking plug (the tapered threaded plug) is removed. This silicone plug stops oil from leaking out past the u-joint yoke area.
