I decided to have some 2-cylinder Maxwell large timing gear blanks made in order to address a seemingly increasing trend of broken timing gears. I had the blanks cast in C875 silicon bronze as an attempt to quiet some gear train noise down.

I have a good supply of blanks ready to have teeth cut. In order to get good pricing on this work, I need to have a batch of them done. This means a sizeable monetary investment on my end. I have not proceeded with it yet. Right now, I project the final cost to be in the neighborhood of $400-$500 per gear.
